Privacy policy
Draft policy. This page describes our current data practices in plain language. It has not been reviewed or approved by an attorney and is not a statement of compliance with any specific privacy law.
Who we are
Trade Search USA is a direct-hire recruiting firm serving the skilled trades. This policy covers information collected through this website and through our recruiting work with job seekers ("candidates") and hiring companies ("employers").
Information candidates submit
When you join the talent network, express interest in an opportunity or speak with a recruiter, we may collect your name, contact details, location and travel or relocation preferences, trade and work history, licenses and certifications, compensation expectations, availability and any notes you share about your job search.
Resumes and profile documents
If you upload a resume or supporting document, it is stored in private, access-controlled storage. Documents are not published, indexed or made browsable to employers.
Information employers submit
Employers provide company details, hiring contacts, position requirements, compensation ranges, hiring timelines and, where applicable, billing information needed to invoice a completed placement.
Account information
Employer portal and staff accounts store the email address, name and role needed to authenticate the account and control what that user can see. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us.
Communications
We keep records of the messages, calls, emails and notes exchanged during a search so that the recruiter working with you has accurate context. Contact form submissions are routed to our recruiting team.
How we use information
Information is used to match professionals with opportunities, to run and document a search, to communicate with you about hiring or your job search, to operate and secure our systems, to invoice employers for completed placements and to meet recordkeeping obligations.
Sharing with employers
Candidate information is presented to an employer only after we have spoken with the candidate and received permission for that specific opportunity. Employers see only the candidates presented to their own company. There is no public or self-serve access to our candidate database.
Service providers
We rely on vendors for hosting, database and file storage, authentication, email delivery and payment processing. They may process information only as needed to provide those services. Payment card and bank details are entered directly with our payment processor; we do not store full card or account numbers.
Security
Access to our recruiting database is limited to authorized Trade Search USA staff and protected by authentication and per-record access rules. Documents live in private storage. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we work to protect the information you trust us with.
Data retention
We keep candidate and employer records for as long as they are useful to an active or future search, and as long as needed for business and recordkeeping purposes. You can ask us to remove your information at any time.
Your choices
You may ask us to review, correct or delete your information, ask that your profile not be presented to a specific employer, or ask to stop receiving recruiting outreach. Send those requests through our contact page and we will respond.
Children
This website and our services are intended for adults in the workforce.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services change. The version posted on this page is the one currently in effect.
Contact
Questions about privacy or a request about your information can be sent through the contact page on this website.
